1967-68 Shelby Series

With the great success of our 1965-66 Shelby G.T. 350 series, we decided to expand our Shelby line into the 1967-68 cars. Our first release in the series is a dark blue 1967 G.T. 350 with in-board driving lamps. Following we will offer several variations including the G.T. 500 and the G.T. 500KR. Carroll Shelby and his team determined that typical G.T. 350 buyers were successful professionals - business owners, airline pilots, lawyers and engineers - who could afford, the Shelby image. They wanted a car that was visibly different, offering much more than just racing stripes.

Built at Shelby's Los Angeles Airport facility, the Shelby G.T. 350 was longer, wider and heavier than earlier versions, with room between its shock towers for a big block engine. It employed heavy duty suspension, a thicker front anti-sway bar and special progressive springs which unique to the Shelby. Heavy duty, adjustable shocks were used front and rear. Stopping was handled by disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. Extensive use was made of fiberglass body panels, because to produce limited quantities in steel would have been too costly. Interior options included two color choices: black and light tan (although a handful were later offered in white), and a functional roll bar, welded to the floor pan and bolted to the inner roof brackets. The roll bar was also fitted with should harnesses which were mounted to inertia reels patterned after those used in F-4 Phantom jet fighters. Standard wheels were steel, with wheels covers decorated with Shelby emblems. Optional wheels included "Mag Star" aluminum centered wheels with steel rims, and beautiful cast aluminum 10-spoke wheels.
